RATE INFO FAQ
Effective January 1, 2008, the rates for water and sewer are as follows:
Water: $4.32 per thousand gallons for single-family residential accounts. A minimum bill applies based
on the size of the meter.
The following conservation rates apply to the water rates of single family residential
customers only. The water rates break down as follows:

Sewer: $4.46 per thousand gallons for single-family residential accounts.
For single-family residential accounts with usage of more than 4,000 gallons, the rate is $4.68 per thousand gallons.
For Commercial or multi-family sewer accounts, the rate is $4.68 per thousand gallons.

Our average bill for residential customers with water and sewer service is $57.75.
The average use associated with this bill is 6,000 gallons.
However your individual habits govern how much water you use and therefore, the
amount of your bill.
Clayton County Water Authority will read the meter each month and render your
monthly bill based on the amount of water used.
Clayton County Water Authority Customer:
The Clayton County Water Authority Board of Directors approved an adjustment in our water and sewer rates on November 1, 2007. This adjustment is needed to help fund necessary improvements in our water and wastewater facilities in order to meet current and future capacity requirements. While we strive to keep our rates as low as possible, our operational costs continue to rise because of more stringent federal and state regulations.
The rates will be adjusted as follows:

These new rates will go into effect with the services that are used beginning on January 1, 2008. Billings will be rendered with these new rates beginning on February 1, 2008.
